Qbuzz
For Qbuzz, Ditt Officemakers created a future-proof 2,200 m² workplace in Utrecht, bringing several locations together under one roof, with a strong focus on identity, collaboration and safety.

Project Case
Qbuzz consolidated several locations into a single building spanning three floors. The aim was to create a welcoming, homely workplace where every employee feels at ease from the moment they arrive, while ensuring the Qbuzz brand identity is clearly reflected throughout.
The design supports new ways of working while strengthening Qbuzz’s recognisable identity. The open-plan workspaces encourage collaboration, while specific departments, such as IT and Travel Control, have been designed around their individual functional requirements. The building’s existing structure, including a distinctive curve on the third floor, formed the basis for a natural layout with two interconnected workplace wings. Meeting rooms are strategically positioned at the heart of the workspaces, creating a logical acoustic buffer while maintaining the open character of the office.
The Qbuzz brand identity has been fully translated into colour accents and signage throughout the workplace. The brand is tangible across the entire building, with a contemporary interpretation of Qbuzz’s signature colours. The pantry in the entrance area is a real eye-catcher. Thanks to folding walls, the space can be closed off flexibly and used for a variety of purposes. Planters act as natural dividers across the workspaces, reinforcing the welcoming, homely atmosphere.
Sustainability was reflected not only in the choice of materials, but particularly in the construction process. Ceiling tiles were reused, and natural-based paints were applied. Building services accounted for a substantial part of the project budget and required careful coordination. Short lines of communication and rapid decision-making enabled the team to maintain momentum throughout the project.
During the delivery phase, additional emphasis was placed on Health & Safety. In particular, a lifting operation in a publicly accessible area required additional control measures. Regular site inspections, active monitoring and clear escalation procedures ensured that safety standards were consistently maintained. Whenever agreed safety procedures were not followed, work was temporarily suspended to ensure compliance with the established safety framework. This approach resulted in a demonstrably higher level of safety and a professional, collaborative working relationship, supported by the active involvement of the client’s Health & Safety coordinator. A level of detailed coordination that we do not encounter every day.
At handover, Qbuzz responded extremely positively. The design concept is even being incorporated into Qbuzz’s national brand guidelines a compliment that perfectly reflects what this project represents.
