Q Port
For the entrance of the multi-tenant building Q Port, we delivered a warm and welcoming arrival experience, with sustainability and re-use at its core. By retaining existing elements and thoughtfully integrating circular materials, we created an interior with real character and a story to match.
Project Case
Warm and welcoming environment
You feel it the moment you step inside: Q Port welcomes you with warmth, calm and a natural look and feel. Commissioned by NSI, the building owner of Q Port, we enhanced the entrance and shared areas to create a more welcoming and attractive arrival experience; a strong first impression designed to help attract (new) tenants. The hospitality area around the bar plays a central role in this, serving as a key meeting point for tenants and visitors. From the outset, we prioritised sustainable design and maximum re use, ensuring the space not only felt renewed, but also remained true to its original character.
”“Tenant feedback has been very positive: warm and inviting, and one person even commented, ‘I would take someone on a date here.’”
Peter StuttenheimAsset Manager NSI
”“When you explain the concept, tenants genuinely get excited. The design stands out, and the circularity has been implemented in a very credible way.”
Robin SenneCommercial Formula Manager NSI
Sustainable projec
To make that warm welcome truly sustainable, we worked as much as possible with what was already there.
We cleaned the existing tiled and timber floors, and re used the sisal carpet on the raised lounge platform. For the soft floor finishes, we opted for a circular solution using leftover carpet tiles from Ege. This allowed us to create a bespoke layout that continues into the meeting rooms, giving the space a distinctive and contemporary look and feel. All with minimal cutting waste and maximum re use. Existing furniture was also given a second life: chairs were re upholstered and now blend seamlessly with the new interior.
In the bespoke joinery, we brought together a story of provenance and craftsmanship.
We used locally sourced timber from Houtvanjestad, including QR codes that make the material’s origin visible, and applied Eco Board: a healthier, formaldehyde free and circular alternative to standard sheet materials. The visible connections, finished with dark red screws, add a subtle accent to the design and make the joinery demountable for future re use. As a finishing touch, we added a unique statement piece: a marble top composed of leftover fragments, brought together like a puzzle into one new whole. With cotton plaster as a natural wall finish, the entrance gains an extra sense of softness, while also supporting a healthy indoor climate. The result is an entrance that combines atmosphere and functionality with a strong circular story.
